The latest update to the Terrameter LS 2 user interface (v2.6.2) features the first iteration of ABEM Active Guidance. This exciting new feature provides valuable information on every aspect of instrument operation and survey procedure where you need it most – not online, not in a textbook or a user manual, but on the instrument in front of you, and accessed by a single button press.
Active Guidance aims to be much more than a simple “help” function; it is there to provide tips and suggestions from our experienced technical staff, as well as helping you avoid common mistakes. It is like having one of our Application Engineers by your side, at every step of your survey, and is another example of Guideline Geo’s commitment to being your guide to the subsurface.
ABEM Active Guidance is free to both new and existing Terrameter LS 2 customers: we are adding this feature free-of-charge as a 2023 centenary year gift for our customers.

Which Instruments will Active Guidance work on?

No. Active Guidance is free to both new and existing Terrameter LS 2 customers. We are adding this feature free-of-charge as a 2023 centenary year gift for our customers.
As an existing customer, how do I get ABEM Active Guidance on my Terrameter LS 2?
Just go to the support section of our website and download the latest Instrument Software for the Terrameter LS 2 (any version above 2.6.2). After the update, a single press of the Guide button (below) on any screen, menu item or command will provide relevant information, instructions, tips and/or advice on how to avoid common mistakes.
I would like a demonstration of the Active Guidance feature
You do not need to be doing an active survey, or outdoors, or even be in the same room as an instrument to see most of the Active Guidance content. Contact your local Guideline Geo distributor or [email protected] and arrangements can be made for either an in-person or remote demonstration of the ABEM Terrameter LS 2.
